Marketing Tips, Insights, and Trends
In this role, the Creative Manager will be responsible for oversight of the creative departments. They will collaborate closely with our graphic designers, marketing and project teams to deliver website, digital, and print design that meets the expectations of our clients. They will work directly with clients as needed, setting expectations, understanding the vision and collaborating to meet deliverables. This person should be a self-starter, good communicator, articulate, think critically, and be motivated and organized. This position requires management of vendors and team members and must oversee quality control and efficiencies. This is a full-time position.
Some essential functions include:
- Creative Project Management
- Responsible for the quality of creative developed across marketing, web, and design projects
- Set timelines for all projects and communicate to either the clients or account managers
- Review or develop creative briefs & designs to drive “creative excellence”
- Collaborate with account teams to understand client wants and needs
- Work with client directly to understand their vision
- Manage vendors, vendor time and budget requirements
- Ensure information is provided properly to designers to ensure they complete the job efficiently
- Client Communications
- Serve as the account manager on all branding projects
- Facilitate design “brainstorming” conversations with clients
- Develop the design strategy with the client
- Oversee client communications as needed to ensure quality
- Clients are responded to in a timely manner and expectations are set and met
- Manage client expectations and communication for all branding projects and design projects when acting as the Account Manager
- Set scope expectations and speak to client about adjusting hours as need to accommodate a change in deliverables
- Quality Control
- Ensure quality control across design projects
- Review and approve all final design projects before they go to the client for review
- Team Management & Development
- Responsible for hiring and management of graphic design (employees and contractors)
- Direct graphic designers to achieve client goals
- Manage design time to improve quality and efficiency
- Support in the development of designers
- Strategy & Process Innovation
- Monitor project profitability and efficiency across design projects
- Ensure project efficiency and profitability by vendor/employee time and ensure designers have all the information they need to be effective
Education/Experience requirements:
- BS/BA in art, graphic design, marketing, communications or other relevant work experience with proven results
- A minimum of 5 years’ design experience or related field
- A solid understanding of design practices
- Brilliant interpersonal and communication skills
- Working knowledge of marketing, design and brand development
- Understanding of website design process
- High level of communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Must be able to think strategically and demonstrate critical decision making
