Tips to Drive Traffic Through Various Online Platforms:
1.Twitter
When posting from Twitter, try to make your tweets short and sweet. If the you are posting a link within your tweet, keep the link as close to the beginning of your tweet as possible. This ensures that when retweeted your link won’t be lost. After all, your goal on Twitter is to expand your reach across the Twitter universe, and to do this you must get retweeted to reach a greater audience.
2. Facebook
Facebook offers a personal style of networking and interacting. By creating virtual conversations through “likes”, “shares”, and “messages” you are able to create an entire virtual conversation which leads to building actual business relationships. Facebook helps your followers or consumers to understand your brand. It is important to remember that a Facebook campaign (like any social media campaign) should be coupled with a traditional, integrated marketing strategy to increase awareness and produce a positive return on investment.
3. Blogging
Blogs are not only helpful in generating new traffic sources but are also beneficial in retaining existing traffic sources from returning customers. By encouraging customer interaction, you are increasing brand loyalty. Strive to build a community with your blog and be sure to define your area of expertise. This will help drive relevant customers to your website for more information. A well-positioned blog can also be used to collect customer feedback and determine how customers view your brand through comments left on your blog.
4. Know what the consumer is searching for
Everything you do online from social media to blogging to uploading photos contributes to your search ranking. No matter what online platform is being used, keep all of your verbage about your brand, company, products, or services similar and consistent. Consider utilizing the Google Adwords Keyword Tool to identify what consumers are searching for online that is relevant to your product or service.
5. Link Building
Continuously connect all of your online platforms back to your website. This ensures that no matter where your posts are being seen, customers always have a link to find more information.
Remember…the goal of every online marketing outlet is to drive a conversion. A conversion is when someone comes to your site, platform, or page and does something (leaves their email address, follows a link to your site, or calls your company for more information). Each platform should be utilized towards a conversion. It takes an average of 7 to 9 “touches” to make a sale. If integrated correctly into your marketing strategy, each link, tweet, post, etc., can be a “touch” in the process.
