Facebook Reaches a New Milestone

As you may have heard, Facebook announced a new milestone: over 2 billion users each month! This far surpasses the other popular social networks. Instagram has 700 million active monthly users, Twitter has 328 million active monthly users, SnapChat has 166 million active daily users, and LinkedIn, which is more of a specialty social network, has 500 million users (they do not specify active users on a daily or monthly basis).
Facebook also shared that there are more than 175 million people sharing a love reaction and over 800 million people liking something each day. Plus, more than 1 billion people use Groups each month!
This is an incredible milestone for Facebook and underscores its overall popularity and importance. To celebrate this milestone, Facebook is launching several new personalized features over the next few days that are geared towards driving additional interactions:
- Good Adds Up Video – Facebook is launching a personalized video that celebrates the world being brought closer together. You will find your video in your newsfeed or on the Good Adds Up page.
- Celebrating Interactions – Facebook is calling this “Celebrating the Good People Do”. After you react to a post with Love, wish someone a happy birthday or create a group, you will see a message in your news feed thanking you for that interaction.
- Sharing Community – On the Good Adds Up page, Facebook will be featuring fun facts about how people are contributing to their communities and stories of inspiration.
