The holidays are an excellent time to send a special holiday message to clients, prospects and partners and create an additional “touch”. As mentioned in a previous blog, it takes seven to nine touches to reach your audience. A touch can be a social media post, a press release, an event, traditional media advertising or an email communication. Every marketing initiative is a touch and it should accomplish at least one of three goals: increase brand awareness, drive a return on investment, or lead to the next touch.
Around this time of year, you should be thinking about how you can strengthen relationships with everyone that is important to your business. Now is the time to show your appreciation for their business by doing at least one of the following:
- Reach out to them and remind them of the products and services that you offer
- Bring attention to new product or service offerings
- Physically show appreciation through your actions by offering small gifts and discounts
Incorporate gift giving into your strategic marketing plan by giving a memorable gift. Sending a client a gift generates top of mind awareness and shows your client that they are important to you and your brand. While you should think outside the box and send a creative gift to your client, keep your client’s interests in mind. Timing is also important when it comes to sending gifts to clients. Waiting too close to the holidays could cause your gift to get lost among the hustle and bustle of the season. One strategy to create a memorable touch, is to send gifts closer to Thanksgiving and let clients know how thankful you are for them.
In addition to creating a touch with clients, it is also important to communicate with prospects and your network. Use this special time to create a stronger connection with your prospects and to help move them further along in the buying funnel. It is also essential to maintain strong relationships with your partners, vendors and network of referrals who have helped you succeed, and the holidays are a great way to touch base and remind them how grateful you are for their support.
Use this holiday season to create brand awareness for your organization by reaching out to your network to show appreciation.
