If you’re in the middle of creating your monthly Social Media Calendar, you may be looking for some content to share on your social media posts. Although you can stick with company news, current campaigns, promotions, and events, you may want to also consider repurposing old content from your website onto social media posts. This gives you the opportunity to increase continued traffic to your website and your old content pages, such as blog posts.
Here are 4 Ways to Repurpose Old Content for Social Media Posts
1. Re-Share Old Content That Performed Well
One of the easiest ways to repurpose old content is to share it again! If it was something that performed well years ago, or even months ago, you can always re-share it especially if it’s timeless. Was your Mother’s Day post from a few years ago a big hit? Share it again this Mother’s Day! Twitter is one of the most common platforms and easiest way to share old content again.
2. Create a Roundup Post
Do you have a number of different blog posts or content pieces that have a similar content? You can put them together in a post such as “The best…” or take all your posts from the past week or month and make a “In Case You Missed It” post. These are a great way to repurpose old content and get it out to new readers.
3. Build on an Old Post
Let’s say you wrote a blog post a couple years ago about a topic. In the past two years, your views have changed on this topic or some of the facts have changed too. This is a great opportunity to reflect on that old post, or build on it with new information or a new view.
4. Turn Statistics and Survey Results into an Infographic
It’s been researched and determined that photos get more engagement and reach on social media than text posts do. So, why not turn text into a photo? You can take some statistics or lists that you have and make a graphic with them. This way you can now share an image/photo while still sharing the text content you want to share.
These are just a few of the ways you can repurpose old content for your social media. When you’re putting together your Social Media Calendar for next month if you are looking for a creative way to fill in some information or want to break up a campaign somehow, consider these four new ways to repurpose your old content.
