Marketing Trends to Dominate 2016
The space of online marketing is complex and ever changing leaving you with the opportunity to embrace the new trends online marketing will bring each year. 2015 was a year full of guerrilla marketing and social media campaigns. The questions is now… what will 2016 bring to the world of marketing?
Looking at current marketing trends, we can expect to see a stronger push towards these 4 marketing platforms and trends…
1. Video Ads
Video ads are nothing new, with the launch and explosion of Youtube, videos have become a means to share, like, upload and post a multitude of videos, but what will be different for 2016 is that Google is finally getting on board with in-SERP video advertising. What does this mean? This means that Google recognizes that users are more accepting of video ads online as opposed to your typical pop up advertisement.
2. App indexing to EXPLODE
Google has offering app indexing for a while now, meaning that businesses can increase their online Google ranking through their website, social media and also mobile application usage. This will be the year of the mobile website consumer. Apps have the ability to do everything that a website does but in a more interactive and mobile friendly way. After all…whatever you need, there’s an app for that.
3. Mobile to dominate the desktop
With these new mobile applications on the rise, the average consumer will be more inclined to search, purchase and share buying information via their mobile devices. After Google announced their “Mobilegeddon” algorithm which would not recognize or rank website that were not/are not mobile friendly, many companies have begun the process of eliminating their desktop website altogether. According to Google, it is perfectly acceptable to have a mobile-only site without a desktop counterpart and still be able to be ranked in a Google search.
4. Virtual Reality
Science in recent years have taken great technological advances in the world of virtual reality. The latest and greatest technological being the Oculus Rift, as well as other VR (virtual reality) devices will introduce an entire new medium of online advertising that has never been used or seen before. Virtual Reality type advertising will integrate popular social media platforms with video channels and forms of direct messaging. There is a chance that this 2016 “trend” may just turn out to be a “fad,” but either way…you have to admit that’s pretty cool!
2016 is going to continue to immerse marketing trends and tactics into the technological world. Through social media devices to virtual reality applications, be ready to adapt your marketing tactics and strategies to fit your consumers and the technology they are using to get their information. Make the most out of your 2016!
Wishing all of you a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
