With the influx of digital communication outlets over the past few years, businesses are faced with a great advantage and a difficult challenge. The advantage: there are a vast number of platforms for reaching your audience. The challenge: everyone else is using many of those same outlets and saturating the market with both content and ads.

The question then is, what are the different types of marketing strategies that you can use to help your business stand out? Here are a few different marketing strategies to consider within your overall plan to help you reach your target audience and fill the sales funnel:

Ideas for Different Marketing Strategies

LinkedIn Sales Navigator

LinkedIn Sales Navigator outreaches are a relatively new marketing technique that allow you to find and communicate with a specific group of prospects. If your goal is to target a niche audience, Sales Navigator helps you search and contact anyone within the LinkedIn database that meets your ideal demographic profile.

When using Sales Navigator, the first step is to determine the target audience you are trying to reach.  From there, you will write your connection request messaging and determine how you will follow-up once they connect. For example, you may want to reply with another message, email them, call them, or leverage a combination of strategies.

Online Conversion Tools

Often, we use online conversion tools as one of the different marketing strategies to drive leads for our clients. A conversion tool serves as a continuous sales funnel, helping to drive new leads for your business. Although these tools can take some time to develop and set up, once you have them on your website, they can serve as ongoing resources for marketing and sales.

To create your own conversion tool, you need to first determine the content or topic and the format. There are multiple options, you could create a guide, on-demand webinar, whitepaper, and more. The key is to develop content that is desirable enough to require that a person provide their contact information for them to access.

Once you create the conversion tool and add it to the website, you need to market it through various communication channels. These are also great tools for your sales team to use as a part of their prospecting process.

Cross Marketing Strategies

If you are trying to reach a broader audience, cross marketing with strategic partners is one of the different marketing strategies that allows you to expand your audience while also cultivating strong relationships with partners.

There are many different marketing approaches you can take to cross market your business. You can write guest blog posts for each other’s websites and share on social media and through email marketing. You could also record a joint podcast, video interview or webinar.

Using different types of marketing strategies is very important to ensure that your business is reaching its target audience. However, using new marketing strategies may not be right for your business. You need to understand who your audience is and where they are to ensure that your key messages are being heard.
